The Drill Down: Best Copper Assays (July 1-26)

The latest data, identified using the Mining Intelligence platform, reveals a series of impressive copper assays from various exploration and production stages around the world.

July has brought exceptional copper assay results from various global projects, highlighting the significant potential within the mining sector. This month’s top three drill results, based on width x grade values, come from projects in Mongolia, Argentina, and Chile. Below, we explore these standout projects in detail.

Entrée/Oyu Tolgoi JV

Entrée/Oyu Tolgoi JV (Mongolia) Entrée Resources has delivered an extraordinary result from their Entrée/Oyu Tolgoi JV project in Mongolia. Drill hole UGD735 intersected a substantial 574.30 meters starting from a depth of 49.70 meters, grading 1.55 % copper. This impressive intersection results in a width x grade value of 890.17, the highest of the month. The significant width and strong grade of this intersection underscore the enormous potential of the Oyu Tolgoi deposit, which is already recognized as one of the world’s largest copper-gold resources. The consistency of these high-grade results reinforces the strategic importance of this project for Entrée Resources and their joint venture partners.

Altar

Aldebaran Resources’ Altar project in Argentina secures the second spot with a remarkable drill result. Drill hole ALD-24-150EXT intersected an astonishing 1229.50 meters of mineralization starting just 10.00 meters below the surface, grading 0.47 % copper. This extensive intersection yields a width x grade value of 577.87. The sheer scale of this intersection highlights the expansive nature of the Altar deposit. Altar is already known for its large porphyry copper-gold system, and these latest results continue to showcase its significant exploration potential. Aldebaran Resources is well-positioned to advance this project towards further development stages.

Lana Corina

Culpeo Minerals’ Lana Corina project in Chile takes the third position with an impressive result. Drill hole CMLCD014 intersected 454.00 meters starting from a depth of 90.00 meters, grading 0.79 % copper. This intersection produces a width x grade value of 358.66. The Lana Corina project has consistently delivered high-grade copper results, and this latest drill hole further confirms the project’s potential. Located in a region with a rich mining history, the continuous positive results from Lana Corina bolster Culpeo Minerals’ prospects in Chile’s competitive mining sector.

These top three drill results demonstrate the diverse and rich copper mineralization across different regions. The significant widths and grades of these intersections highlight the growing potential of their respective properties. The consistent reporting of high-quality data from these projects reinforces the critical role of exploration in meeting global copper demand.

As these projects continue to advance, they promise to uncover more valuable resources, contributing to the dynamic landscape of the global mining industry.
