Wage and Benefit Survey

Costmine Intelligence surveys industrial mineral, metal and coal mines throughout the United States and Canada annually. The survey includes wages for hourly employees as well as salaries for technical, managerial, and administrative personnel.

Summary tables showing the range, average, median, 25th percentile, and 75th percentile for wages are presented here.

Salaries

Appendix B includes information about the salaries for technical, managerial, and administrative personnel. Statistical summaries of the survey results are presented in tables, and summaries of salaries follow.

Employment Taxes

Federal and State or Provincial employment taxes are explained in Appendix D. The 2023 report contains the full results of our annual survey of compensation practices at Canadian mining companies. Our report includes data from 76 metal, diamond, industrial mineral, aggregate, and fossil fuel mines in 10 provinces across Canada.
