Barrick Mining advances a planned IPO of North American Barrick, targeting a minority listing on the NYSE and TSX by end of 2026
At Costmine, our Mining Intelligence platform tracks the project-level milestones, capital moves, and corporate transactions shaping the global gold sector. Barrick Mining’s move to take its North American gold assets public is exactly the kind of development we’re watching closely.
Barrick Mining Corporation has announced it is advancing a planned IPO of a new standalone company, North American Barrick, targeting a minority listing on the NYSE and TSX by end of 2026. Barrick will retain a significant controlling interest in the new entity, which will hold its stakes and operatorship of Nevada Gold Mines and the Pueblo Viejo mine in the Dominican Republic, as well as the wholly-owned Fourmile gold project.
The portfolio is substantial. Nevada Gold Mines encompasses the Carlin, Cortez, and Turquoise Ridge complexes, collectively representing one of the most productive gold operations in the Western Hemisphere. Together with Pueblo Viejo, North American Barrick’s assets produced approximately 2.0 million attributable ounces in 2025. A dedicated executive team has been appointed and has been operating as a unit for several months, signaling that the IPO is well past the concept stage.
The growth story centers on Fourmile. Located adjacent to Nevada Gold Mines and wholly owned by Barrick, Fourmile is described by the company as one of the most significant gold discoveries of this century. It is expected to eventually be contributed to the NGM joint venture and represents a high-grade, low-cost addition to the portfolio that gives North American Barrick a credible long-term growth profile beyond its existing producing assets.
The IPO structure is designed to give the market direct, focused exposure to a Tier One North American gold portfolio under dedicated management. Newmont, Barrick’s joint venture partner at NGM, is engaged in the process. Barrick has noted it is free to proceed unilaterally but is working collaboratively to ensure value is created for all parties.
Mining Intelligence tracks the capital moves, asset fundamentals, and corporate transactions shaping the global gold sector.
